My Favorite Model

One of the perks of my job here as photographer is the opportunity to work with some beautiful brides and some lovely models. It's easy to take a good photograph of a beautiful being, so it's just natural that my favorite model would be my pooch, Snoop.

She's been used to being in front of a camera since we first got together in Y2K. Even then she was a natural, although my photo skills were far from great at that point...


Here's a shot of a meeting she and I were having in 2006 when we'd just bought this place and wondering exactly what to do with it. You can tell she had a vision.


Although she's a little hesitant at times to share the spotlight, she's usually a good sport about it.


But her mission is to always be in front of the lens, just a natural camera hog, as almost every bride who's been here can tell you.

But the problem today is my favorite model is missing, and has been for two days now. Even though we know that the viewers of our blog typically live far from Bluff Mountain, I can only hope that some are in this area and would help us in our search. Lauren and John

We heard a story about the day John proposed, and they didn't get a photo. Well we may have missed that moment, but we took care of the other part!

Congratulations to this great couple, and we look forward to seeing you in the fall. I bet the leaves are gorgeous this year!!!

Seadina and Chris Engagement Photos

We had a blast shooting this engagement session. They just couldn't stop laughing, which is nice when you're starting a life together. We'll see a lot more of these guys in October.

Elisa and John

This group traveled from California to the Smoky Mountains for the wedding celebration. We're glad they did! The rain held off til after the ceremony, then a couple of summer showers made for a beautiful reception backdrop!!!

Lauren and Joshua's Wedding Day

It was a rainy morning, but the sky cleared up for Lauren and Joshua to have the outdoor wedding they wanted. This gave us some great smoky mountain shots in the portraits, and a cooler afternoon for the reception! Congratulations to the happy couple, and thanks for finding us!!!

Loraine and Richard Elope to the Mountains

We had a great time today with Loraine and Richard. They eloped to the mountains, and had a great time. A relaxing day prior to their wedding, taking in the mountain views, having some fun... then they dressed up for their wedding, had a glass of wine on the porch, took a few photos and in general had a great day. They made it a great day for us a well...

Linda and Tim's Wedding

It was snowing here the day Connie called to talk about her 4th of July Elopement. From spending a good part of the day with this couple, seems to me it's not just the weather that's warmed up....

We had a fun day with Michelle and Buzz, starting with some bridal portraits in the garden...

Then it's time for a great reception with family, friends, food, fun and dancing!





The garden is also a great place to take a lovely model...


Then the couple is off for a romantic getaway in the vintage Packard...



The crowd waves goodbye to the bride and groom. A good time was had by all!


Before long everyone's gone. It gets really quiet here late at night with just us and the critters...


Not a bad way to spend the day...
